The Good Life

Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro’s next story-driven RPG, The Good Life, has been revitalized on Kickstarter after the game’s original crowdfunding campaign failed on Fig.

The new effort launched yesterday, with the game receiving an updated aesthetic and description. So far, the project has collected more than USD$130,000 of its $650,000 goal from more than 3,000 backers.

On the campaign’s developer biography section, Swery says he is more than excited to make The Good Life. “The Good Life is my ‘dream game’,” Swery said. “I’ve been thinking about it for a very long time, and was finally blessed with a chance to develop it thanks to my powerful partners—and [the campaign backers], of course.”

Swery’s passion to continue pursuing the project is clear and the proof is not only in the fact that the project lives again. Twitter user Nibel collected some of the comparison images and tweeted them out so fans can see all of the changes made to the game’s art.

For him, gaming doesn’t get much better than Metal Gear Solid and Super Mario Sunshine. Though he is a die-hard Nintendo fan, he grew up on PlayStation.
