Crystal Dynamics have long been touting the fact that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a much bigger game than its predecessor.

Increasing exploration areas in the game has been a big focus for Crystal Dynamics, along with bringing back what has always seperated Tomb Raider from the pack. Tomb raiding.

According to an interview with Pixelvulture, Rise of the Tomb Raider is a reasonably long game. Mike Brinker of Crystal Dynamics told the website, “Expect to spend around 30 -40 hours getting everything done. This is gathering every weapons, ability and completing every side quest…In terms of scale, all our hub spaces, the areas that allow you to explore and choose your own way to play, have been increased by three time the size. So there will be lots more to see and do in each area of the game too. We have more challenge tombs, crypts, caves, and a bunch of extra things to do like the side missions for the Remnant people, and the tomb guardians. ”

If you’re just looking to run through the main story Brinker noted that it should still take you around “15-20” hours to complete, but that all depends on your playstyle. Obviously, if you go in guns blazing every time, you’ll probably beat the game a little quicker than someone nimbly stealthing around.
