It has been a long time since we last heard an update regarding Tequila Work’s upcoming adventure game, RiME. The development team has been saying they’d be speaking about the game “soon” for well over a year now, and with the game missing E3 2016 the future of the project wasn’t looking too bright.

But, Tequila Works says the game is “advancing at a great pace” in a news post over at Gamespot.

PR Manager Jose Herraez confirmed to Gamespot that RiME is still in active development and that the team knows “it has been a long time with no news, and we are just as eager to communicate about the game as media and fans are to receive news, but we are only a few weeks away of changing that.”

News about RiME is expected to drop either during or near Gamescom this August. Hopefully we see something new from the game in the form of a trailer. Stay tuned for further updates on the game as we have them.

RiME doesn’t have a release date yet and platforms are unconfirmed at this point as Tequila Works previously bought the game’s rights back from Sony. The original release platform for the game was only PS4, but that may have changed.
