Panache Digital has today released its evolution-based survival adventure Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on console, simultaneously introducing a host of quality-of-life enhancements to the PC version.
Improvements to the menus and tutorials were already announced, but the full list of changes has now been made public.
Most notable among the changes is a revamped item targeting system to make selecting the correct object easier. Another key feature enables players to check on their clan members from a distance.
The team has also expanded the command system, so clan members can now be ordered to apply items or perform complex actions. The game will also spawn outsiders more frequently.
Furthermore, multiple playthroughs are now encouraged thanks to the addition of custom games, whereby players will be able to start afresh based on a snapshot of their progress after evolving.
The full list of changes is available here.
OnlySP’s Rebecca Hills-Duty reviewed Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on its PC release, scoring it a Credit (3/5) and writing that, though frustrating, the game shines when “everything ‘clicks’ in certain, glorious moments.”
