You may have held off playing the incredible Resistance games until now. You may have ignored them in favor of other great shooter franchises. But no more. Resistance is futile indeed, as the Resistance Platinum Trilogy is on its way, promising freedom from the oppression of boredom.

It was recently announced on Amazon France that the trilogy would release in France on May 16th. While North-American and rest-of Europe releases have not yet been announced, it’s quite likely it will be available worldwide by the end of year.

The Resistance series is a PS3 exclusive franchise that details the alternate-history war between humanity and an invading alien race called the Chimera in the 1950’s. The games are well known for their inventive weaponry, well-paced narratives, and large scale battles and environments.

Personally, while I feel the first game doesn’t hold up quite as well today as it did in 2006, it’s still worth playing through and the other 2 are absolutely incredible experiences that every single-player should experience. Stand your ground for further details in the future.
