The remaster of the original Resident Evil has sold over one million copies worldwide as announced via a press release from Capcom.

The Resident Evil HD Remaster was released outside of Japan back in January and received great reception from the public, becoming the best-selling day one digital title on the Playstation Network Store. It is Capcom’s fastest selling digital game in their history for Europe and North America.

The new remastered version contains a number of updates and new features to the classic title, mainly focusing on technical and visual quality of the game.

Resident Evil is a survival horror game which was originally released back in 1996, but then was remade in a High definition in 2002, and now this is the remaster of that HD remake. Although many fans have complained and questioned the continuing trend of remakes and remasters in this consoles generation they invariably continue to sell well, showing the market wants these games.
