Yesterday we had a report about Mafia 3 being currently in development at 2K Czech according to a source at Eurogamer.cz, only, the game won’t be heading to this generation of consoles, but the presumed Xbox 720 and PS4. Today we are hearing reports that Thief 4 will also miss the current generation of consoles and be released on next-gen systems. Announced over three years ago, we still have yet to hear a single new detail about the game since the website launched. The game is now expected to launch late next year on next-gen consoles.

All this talk about next-gen games as of recent is really getting me excited as it’s becoming clearer and clearer that we will probably see the next set of consoles during the 2013 holidays. We’ll make sure to continue following any updates on Thief 4, so follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay up today date.

Thanks, Eurogamer

  1. We&#039ve waited so long, putting it on a next-gen platform is going to raise the expectations even higher. I&#039m a big fan of the Thief franchise, so i&#039m a little disappointed I won&#039t be seeing this anytime soon. However, I would rather them take the time to develop it properly and put it on a next-gen platform if that will offer up more potential for the game to excel.
