The latest trailer for PlayStation VR- exclusive game Statik has dropped ahead of its April 24 release.

Little is known about the plot besides the fact the player is part of an experiment run by the Statik Institute of Retention. The official release trailer, however, finally provides clues about the sinister Institute, mentions in-game events, and even hints at the identity of the protagonist.

Statik is an upcoming VR puzzle game from Tarsier Studios. OnlySP had the opportunity to go hands-on with the title at E3 last year, with the demo showing the unique puzzle game is delightfully hard, from deciphering how the controller works right up to the gameplay. The story and atmosphere from the announcement trailer seem to be stand-out features of the game, with the trailers presenting it as Portal meets The Stanley Parable.

The game is a departure for independent developer and publisher Tarsier Studios. Founded in 2004 as Team Tarsier, the Swedish developer worked with Media Molecule and Sony on Tearaway Unfolded and the LittleBigPlanet series. Together this VR experiment and the developer’s other upcoming project Little Nightmares (due for an April 28, 2017 release) represent a new era for the now-independent studio.

Statik is currently available as a pre-release on PlayStation Store for £15.99, with a 20% discount for PS Plus members.
