Three years after its initial reveal we finally have a release date for The Witness.

In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Jonathan Blow has revealed that The Witness will be released on January 16th, 2016. Blow also revealed some interesting facts about the game in the blog post, most notably the scale of the game.

Originally the developers had only planned for 8-12 hours of content, but as you now know, the game was significantly expanded. Blow now expects the game to take completionists anywhere from 80-100 hours to complete. That’s A LOT of puzzles to solve.

Blow seems rather excited to get the game in your hands, stating in the blog post that The Witness is “intricate and deep, and also unlike anything else you have played.”

You can check out the release date trailer just below. Let us know what you think of the game in the comments section and if you’ll be attempting to solve all the puzzles the game has on offer when it releases this January on the PS4.
