Raji: An Ancient Epic

A new trailer for Raji: An Ancient Epic has dropped, and it brings to mind one of the most beloved franchises in gaming.

The footage shows off a selection of platforming and combat challenges. While the former seem largely scripted, the latter are intriguing.

Facing off against oversized, imaginatively designed foes, protagonist Raji moves with a speed and flexibility reminiscent of Kratos from the earliest God of War games. The similarities are emphasised by the distant fixed camera perspective.

However, Raji: An Ancient Epic takes place in a mythologised version of Ancient India, following a young girl as she fights against a demon invasion in a quest to save her younger brother.

OnlySP spoke to one of the game’s lead designers, Avichal Singh, back in 2017 to discover more about the project’s background, inspirations, and goals.
