Work is still occurring when it comes to Rainbow 6: Patriots, Ubisoft’s upcoming revival of the tactical shooter whose development has been rather ‘hush, hush’ as of of late.

Speaking to VG 24/7 today, studio lead Jade Raymond told the publication that Ubisoft Toronto, the staff responsible for the game’s multiplayer component, has completely finished their part of the deal. The team consists of around 200 people.

This leaves the ultimate fate of the game in the hands of Ubisoft Montreal, the studio who is working on the game’s single-player campaign. Although Raymond didn’t mention how the development process is going on their end, we imagine that they can’t be too far behind, as the game has already been in the works for several years, with the earliest official rumblings heard in 2010, and the dev team restructuring in early 2012 was said to have smoothed out any development and creative issues there may have been.

Originally announced for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 via a cinematic gameplay trailer back in 2011, the game has since been rumored to have shifted development onto next-generation consoles. We find it likely that a re-reveal of the game is imminent, with a possible showing at this year’s E3.
