Tweets coming out of the development team of Quantum Break are optimistic about how the title hopes to handle its ambitious claim to blend video game and live action. According to preliminary reports, after playing through a segment of the game, you will be able to watch a live action segment.

Not much news is available for how this will work exactly or how the gameplay and live-action segments will mesh together, but Thomas Puha, head of PR for Remedy Entertainment, the game’s developer, is sure gamers will like it.

The game is a third-person, cover-based shooter that centers around a main character with time manipulation powers. While not inherently an innovative or new mechanic, Puha is confident that the implementation of the time powers will be robust and interesting, allowing for multiple approaches to the game’s problems and will provide enough reason for gamers to come back and retry different areas of the game for different results.

Quantum Break is an XBox One exclusive and is slated for an early 2016 release. Stay tuned to OnlySP on Facebook and Twitter for further details regarding Quantum Break out of Gamescom 2015.

  1. Like how they’re doing the split between the game and a live action part that follows after it while playing. Can’t wait to find out more about it next week.
