Since officially starting business in June, Striking Distance Studios, which is creating a narrative-driven game in the PUBG universe, has gained plenty of promising talent.

Former Sledgehammer Games narrative director Scott Whitney has joined as senior narrative director. Larry Charles, Jr has come aboard as senior game designer, having previously worked as a level designer at Obsidian Entertainment, Sledgehammer, and others.

Meanwhile, the chief creative officer of the studio is Christopher Stone, an animation director who has previously worked on Days Gone, several Call of Duty games, and the first two Dead Space games.

Also recently joining the team is former EA Vice President and Dead Space executive producer Steve Papoutsis.

The number of Visceral and Sledgehammer veterans comes as little surprise, given that Striking Distance Studios is being helmed by Glen Schofield, who was also a founder of Activision’s newest Call of Duty studio and a co-creator of Dead Space.

Schofield himself took to Twitter earlier today to show off the new studio’s logo:

No further details about the project are yet available, but the talent on board suggests that whatever it is should make for a worthwhile single-player experience within the PUBG universe.
