Independent developer The Game Bakers has released a free update to its action game Furi.
The Freedom Update adds an invincible mode, allowing players to become invincible, skip a fight, or weaken a boss in order to experience the game without difficulty interruptions. The mode was also implemented for speedrunners to practice boss fights to improve their records.
The new update also allows players to speedrun the game in hard difficulty (known as ‘Furier’) after completing a speedrun in the normal difficulty. Finally, The Game Bakers has also added Bernard, a boss fight originally added in some downloadable content, as well as an alternate control scheme (Control Scheme D) as requested by players.
“We’ve been listening to Furi‘s community about the features and improvements that they were hoping for,” said The Game Bakers co-founder Audrey Leprince. “We’re happy to be able to share them with players regardless of the platform they play on.”
The Freedom Update is available on all platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One. Check out the trailer below.
When Furi launched in 2016, OnlySP’s Luis Magalhaes stated that “Furi’s got the style, and it’s got the game mechanics to back it up.” Check out his full review here.
