Persona 5 Royal will have 30% more content, including new endings.
In Game Informer’s September issue, director Daiki Ito and producer Kazuhisa Wada noted that the game’s increased content will “help deepen the feeling of the game” rather than extend the playtime. The rerelease will also continue past the original game’s ending and extend into a third school term where players can experience Royal‘s new endings.
Atlus is also having a “Royal Experience” event on August 30. During the event, Atlus will reveal more information about Persona 5 Royal, as well as allow 100 fans play the game.
Persona 5 originally came out in western territories on April 4, 2017 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Persona 5 Royal will be an enhanced re-release with new content, including new scenarios, attacks, and music.
Persona 5 Royal releases on October 31, 2019 in Japan, and Spring 2020 in the west for the PlayStation 4.
