Persona fans have been waiting for the official announcement of Persona 5 for years, but the wait is now over. Over the weekend, Atlus held a special event celebrating their much loved series, during which they announced several new Persona titles that are currently in development, the highlight of which was certainly this flagship title. Details on it are scarce at the moment, but it is slated to arrive exclusively for the Playstation 3 in Winter 2014, though bear in mind that that is for the Japanese region and there has been no confirmation of a Western release yet. The game is being directed by Katsura Hashino, who held the same role for Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Persona 3 and Persona 4. Atlus also released a teaser trailer, which is embedded below.

The other games that were announced included a sequel to the fighter Persona 4: Arena titled Persona 4: The Ultimax Suplex Hold, also coming to the PS3, while the Playstation Vita gets a rhythm game titled Persona: Dancing All Night and the 3DS gets an RPG called Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. All of these titles are currently expected to launch in the 2014 calendar year, so fans have a lot to look forward to.
