Hello everyone and welcome back to another Week in Review.

The past few weeks have been pretty rough for OnlySP, I will admit. Our traffic numbers are certainly not where I want them to be, and acquiring traffic seems to be just getting harder and harder as the year goes on. I’m not sure exactly why that is so, and I’m a bit worried it might have something to do with Google algorithm updates as that system is always changing. Since they don’t send out updates to tell you what you should look for, it’s hard to keep track of.

Or maybe this year in general is just a relatively slow one in terms of games coverage, who knows? Either way, I’ve taken it upon myself to try and do a lot more in terms of editorials and other coverage here on the site. My goal right now is to try and get at least one QA interview out to you a week along with one to two editorials, alongside my regular news coverage as well.

In our last team meeting we also decided that, if we don’t have an embargo to follow for reviews, our reviews will now be posted on Tuesdays only. This is primarily so you know when exactly to expect reviews here on OnlySP so they’re not intermixed and lost within all of our other content. During every other day of the week you should expect to see some sort of original content here on the site.

This past week I spoke with the developers of a game I’m pretty excited about after seeing it on my Twitter feed. If you were disappointed with the lack of a single player campaign in Rainbow Six Siege, you’ll want to keep an eye out for the interview we’re posting on Monday. On Wednesday, you’ll get another interview, this one a long-form, covering a new indie game that focuses on evolution.

I’m going to keep pushing myself to start driving in higher traffic numbers, but we could really use your support. If you enjoy our content, please share it across social media like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, NeoGAF and any other social outlets you use. We do what we can, but with a limited advertising budget and the threat of being banned in places for “spam”, it’s very challenging for us to get the word out there about OnlySP’s content.

I didn’t get to do a Week in Review last week because I was busy finishing up my review of Inside, which is a game you must play if you own a gaming PC or Xbox One. I don’t give out 10’s very often, if ever, but the game earned it. I even showed the game to one of my college buddies who isn’t very into games and he was super into it. When I switched the game off to play something we could both play, he told me to turn it back on and keep going.

Outside of that, I’ve really been playing a lot of Rainbow Six Siege with my friends lately. With the loss of Scooter a few weeks ago, I got back into online gaming a bit and have started gaming with a lot of friends back home. We’ve been playing Siege religiously just about every night for the past couple weeks now.

I’ve been working through Blood and Wine, but as of right now I’m stuck on a sidequest where the combat encounter is super unbalanced and hard to complete. If you’ve played the expansion, the sidequest is the ritual mission where the stone statues come to life and murder everyone. They’ve got long spears and two mages that completely screw me the moment the combat starts. Annoying. If you have tips I’m all ears.

I’m also continuing to prepare for the launch of my new site, Multiplayer Focus, which I’m pretty excited about. As much as I love single player games, multiplayer games are a bit easier to cover and generate an audience for since they are continually updated and at times, there’s quite a bit more to talk about a la Destiny, The Division and other games of that ilk.  I fully expect MPFocus to be the bigger site overtime, but hopefully OnlySP can get back on track and start pushing bigger numbers again soon as well.

This week we are giving away a Windows 10 copy of Quantum Break. All you have to do to enter is leave your own Week in Review in the comments section to enter. One random winner will be selected on Tuesday morning. Please keep in mind that if you’re comment only says something like, “had a good week, thanks for the giveaway,” you will probably not be selected as the winner.

Good luck to all of you and hope you have a great Sunday evening!
