Hope you’ve had a good week. You may have noticed that our content output has dropped a little bit over the past few weeks, and I want to apologize for that. I’ve been doing this sort of work now for over seven years already and I can honestly say, sometimes you just need a break.
I’ve had a pretty eventful and rather, crappy, summer. Going to E3 and missing out on half the coverage we planned on getting because two (former) members of the site didn’t exactly go there to do what they were supposed to do really got to me. Following that, as you know, I returned home to my cat getting very sick and eventually passing. Before all of that, I dealt with a rather stressful semester of school as I fought to keep my scholarship.
So, over the past two months I’ve taken a pretty good break from most everything that stressed me out…which the site happens to be a pretty strong source of stress for me. But, as I start college classes back up today, I’m ready to start looking towards the future and not the past.
Over the next few weeks I plan to take a good look at OnlySP and what I want the site to be going forward. We’ve changed up quite a lot over the past year, and our traffic numbers haven’t really benefited from it in the way that I had hoped. I plan on getting things back on track starting September 1st and from there we’ll see how things go.
I may be picking up another job in the near future to start saving up for life after college, so that may put some more stress on my time with the site, but I don’t plan on OnlySP going anywhere anytime soon.
Anyways as I’ve said I’ve been taking it easy for the past couple months and honestly, I’ve been playing quite a bit of Xbox. The vast majority of my time has been spent playing Rainbow Six Siege with friends online, but I did have time to finish up Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which, wasn’t that great. It was fun, but the story was complete junk. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft does with the reboot next year.
I also just recently started Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and I’m sure I’ll be working on that one for the next couple weeks as well before the review season really starts to pick up steam. I’ve only played a little bit of the game, but the shooting mechanics are still quite bad. There’s quite a few titles I’m looking forward to playing by the end of this year, but I have to be honest and say a good majority of them are actually multiplayer titles.
So, again, I want to apologize for the lack of effort I’ve been putting into the site over the past few weeks. I really needed to take some time for myself to just figure things out and get out of my own little funk that I ended up in. During the first few weeks of September we have some great interviews lined up for you, and we’ll be working on lining up more for you as the year goes on, so stay tuned.
Thanks everyone and hope you all have a great week!
