Are you an aspiring journalist, or know someone who is?

Would you like to hone your writing skills while gaining valuable experience? Would you like to help deliver all the latest news and information from the world of gaming, and have the opportunity to interview the people that create games?

If this sounds like something you are interested in, OnlySP is looking to bolster its team with a pair of dedicated writers who are able to deliver daily news and updates.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Finding news that fits both your personal interests and those of OnlySP,
  • Drafting news article, under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief and other senior staff members,
  • Liaising with video game public relations and development staff to organise, conduct, and prepare interviews,
  • Sharing information with and taking guidance from more senior staff members

These two positions are volunteer-based, but offer on-the-job training, the possibility of becoming a paid staff member over time, and the ability to build a set of journalistic skills that can be transferred to other workplaces.

Our team is small and friendly, always approachable and understanding in the event that you find yourself confused about the editorial process or unable to meet a deadline. As such, OnlySP is the perfect place for people new to the journalistic field to find their feet and develop a voice that is at once personal and professional.

At present, OnlySP is a small outlet, but we are determined to grow and we would like your help to do so.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a cover letter, CV, and a sample of any previous work to the Editor-in-Chief, Damien Lawardorn, at [email protected] by Saturday, February 11. All applications, whether successful or not, will be responded to.
