Oddworld

Oddworld Inhabitants has officially announced that 2005’s Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is being ported to the Switch.

While details on the port are slim, the previous re-releases that brought the game to the PlayStation 3 in 2011 featured remastered dialogue and bonus material, so hopefully those add-ons will also be included in the Switch version. A release date has not yet been announced.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is considered as a sidestory in the series, which was originally intended to comprise five games, though only two mainline entries have been released to date. The title casts players as a bounty hunter called Stranger in a Wild West-inspired setting. Unlike the mainline entries the saga, the project adopts an adventure-shooter gameplay archetype.

Meanwhile, Oddworld Inhabitants is currently working on the next game in the series, subtitled Soulstorm. That project, similar to New ‘n’ Tasty before it, is set to be a complete remake of a previous title—in this case 1998’s Abe’s Exoddus, but featuring entirely new areas and mechanics. That title is scheduled to be release at some point next year.
