Nioh 2

Team Ninja has made several significant changes to Nioh 2 after evaluating player feedback from last month’s open beta.

According to Team Ninja’s creative director, Tom Lee, the studio examined the data from players’ gameplay as well as their responses to surveys. After reviewing this feedback, the team altered a number of different aspects of the upcoming action RPG.

Many of the improvements seem to focus on making Nioh 2 less difficult. The power of special moves will be increased, while players should be able to use them more frequently. Team Ninja has also included an expanded tutorial section in addition to softening the punishments from the Dark Realm.

Other alterations include editing the UI and settings to improve overall presentation quality. The developer has also added more options to the character creation tool. A full rundown of all the changes can be found over at the PlayStation Blog.

Team Ninja has included fans in the development of the game in the past, holding a character creation contest for players. Winning entrants will have their characters included as presets in the final release.

OnlySP’s Daniel Pereira went hands-on with the title last year, finding that it felt too familiar and stated that “in the end, if you liked Nioh, you will naturally like Nioh 2.”

Nioh 2 is set to launch for PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020.
