The next Need for Speed isn’t Underground 3, but what Ghost Games is developing is sure to excite you if you’re a fan of the franchise.

Ghost Games realized that the Need for Speed franchise has sort of lost its direction over the last few entries and has decided to completely reboot the franchise with the aptly titled, Need for Speed.

A teaser trailer was released for the game which you can view just below.

According to the game’s press release Need for Speed will focus on, “deep customisation, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game.”

Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games talked about the upcoming game in the press release saying, ““Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we’re returning it to greatness in this reboot. Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we’ve always wanted to. We’re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.”

Need for Speed will be fully revealed at E3 2015 so expect to learn more about the game then. It’ll be interesting to see how the narrative comes into play with the latest entry in the franchise as it didn’t work out so well with the last narrative focused Need for Speed game, The Run. Then again, the game wasn’t open world and featured next to no customization so here’s hoping for a better turnout with the reboot of the franchise.
