The next entry in the Far Cry series may be in development at Ubisoft Shanghai according to a new report released by VideoGamer.

According to the CV of Studio Design Manager, Xavier Plagnal, the next Far Cry game is in development at Ubisoft Shanghai. The update was pretty recent having only been listed 5 months ago. Whether or not they are developing the game alone, or in collaboration with other Ubisoft Studios is currently unknown. Ubisoft had said late last year that more info on the game would be “coming soon“.

Far Cry 3 was developed by a number of Ubisoft Studios including Massive (The Division), Red Storm (Rainbow Six) and Ubisoft Montreal. Hopefully we’ll hear more details about the project soon along with a release date for Watch Dogs.

  1. I’ll bet they are just collaborators. I would think Ubisoft would keep Far Cry in Montreal or Toronto most likely, with support from Paris, Shanghai, and maybe others.

    1. Possibly. Although Montreal could be focusing on the next AC and Toronto is supposed to be focusing on the next Rainbow Six.

      1. True, but Montreal is something like 2500 employees I think…and I thought Paris was the lead on AC (or maybe it switches between Paris and Montreal year-by-year).
