Ubisoft should probably just announce the next ten years worth of Assassin’s Creed games if this is how quickly they’re being leaked. Kotaku, has yet again, come across leaked material for the next Assassin’s Creed game, only this time, much sooner than when Black Flag and Unity were leaked.
According to Kotaku, the next Assassin’s Creed game is currently in development at Ubisoft Quebec who, for the first time, are the lead development studio of an Assassin’s Creed game. If you didn’t know, Quebec developed the The Tyranny of King Washington and Freedom Cry expansions for Assassin’s Creed III and Black Flag respectively.
The leaked details reveal that the next Assassin’s Creed is subtitled, “Victory”, and will be set in Victorian London. The game will utilize the Anvil engine, which powered this year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity, and as you’re all well aware, Ubisoft has some work to do with the technical aspects of the engine. Thankfully, it seems this is the only Assassin’s Creed title that Ubisoft is currently working on for 2015 and will only release on the current-gen platforms.
Kotaku was able to get a look at a work-in-progress video for the game that shows off about 7 minutes of gameplay footage. While they have not made the video publicly available, Kotaku did provide some screen grabs and the official title logo.
While writing this article, Ubisoft also released a statement essentially confirming this is indeed legit and will reveal more at a later date. You can read their full response just below:
“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”
