Starhawk is a game that is primarily multi-player focused, and is a sequel to a game that was multi-player focused. Why is it being featured on this site, then? Well, it also includes a single-player campaign. I’ll give you a minute to lift your jaw from the floor. Done? Ok, now you can see the latest trailer.

The game is a sequel to Warhawk, the 2007 PS3-exclusive shooter that was held in high regard for it’s unique dogfighting gameplay and cartoonish aesthetic. There was no single-player component however, which is something that Starhawk is including. From the looks of it, some sort of plot devi- I mean rift energy, has allowed humanity to venture into space. You’ll play as Emmett Graves, a miner/colonist who is attacked by people who have been mutated by rift energy, known as outcasts. Becoming partially mutated himself, he becomes a mercenary and embarks on what looks to be an epic space-faring adventure. Check out the trailer below to see some of the gameplay highlights.

Starhawk launches on May 8th, exclusively for PS3. Make sure to follow Velocity Gamer for details on the multi-player.
