Although Sonic has been in a rut for quite some time now, Sega apparently has no intentions of giving up on the Blue Blur. It was announced last year that Sega had signed a three-game exclusivity deal for their mascot with Nintendo, with the first two of those games being Sonic: Lost World and Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Now, however, it seems as though the deal for a third game has either been pushed back or cancelled. This possibility was recently highlighted on a promotional sign at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany and spotted by Spindash.de.

The sign, embedded below, makes mention of those two aforementioned titles alongside their respective consoles, as well as a “New 2015 Title TBA”, with the logos for the Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One listed beneath it. At this stage, no such game has officially been announced, but its existence certainly is plausible. We will keep an eye out for any further developments.
