THQ Nordic has confirmed that Volition is “deep in development of a new Saints Row entry” as one of at least two AAA titles the company wants to launch by March 2021 in the company first-quarter financial report.
According to the company’s latest financial report, the money THQ Nordic has raised is giving Volition a chance to revive the Saints Row universe after the misfire of Agents of Mayhem. Sven Boonen of OnlySP reviewed Agents of Mayhem, giving it a rating of Credit (3/5) stating the game “comes across a drab Saints Row spin-off at first glance” with little inspiration elsewhere.
With Volition going back to the studio’s bread-and-butter franchise, it might be able to create something with far more personality.
In the first quarter of 2019, THQ Nordic earned USD$118 million from sales, and the company highlighted the continuing strong sales of its back catalog, specifically highlighting Metro Exodus, as a key factor.

Good! Gat out of Hell set the stage for new games in the series, so I’m glad to hear they’re taking the opportunity.
