A brand new gameplay trailer for JRPG Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below was released today in anticipation of its October 13th release.

Via the Square Enix Press Site, the new trailer, which you can view at the bottom of this post, highlights each character that players will encounter, both good and bad, as well as gameplay and skill tree development. King Doric of Arba narrates the trailer for viewers. He will take you through character strategies, in-game shopping tips and alchemic knowledge. All of this is necessary to find the source of the curse that is driving the monsters in the land mad. Equipped with Doric’s advice on customizing, strategizing and forming the ultimate team for any situation, players can prepare to take down the swarms of formidable foes that lie ahead.

New pre-order bonuses were also announced. Pre-orderers via the Playstation Store will be rewarded with a static wallpaper theme for their PS4, as well as a special in-game weapon, the golden axe, for Yangus.

All of the downloadable content previously available in the Japanese version only will be free and included in the Western release of the game. These include playing as the villainous manslayer, Psaro, as well as further exploring the personal stories of other Dragon Quest Heroes.

Both the English and the original Japanese voice-over versions will be included.

For the unfamiliar, Dragon Quest Heroes revolves around the hero, Luceus, or the heroine, Aurora, who lead a familiar Dragon Quest ensemble of characters. Their quest this time: to bring the rampaging hordes of monsters to their senses and restore order to the kingdom after they were driven crazy when a dark cloud fell over the city of Arba.

Dragon Quest: Heroes will be released on October 13th exclusively for the Playstation 4. The price point for the regular version will be $59.99, while the Slime Collectors Edition will be sold for $99.99.
