Days Gone

As might be expected, Days Gone will receive robust post-launch support, including a free difficulty mode and weekly challenges beginning in June.

Taking to the PlayStation Blog, game director Jeff Ross outlined in brief what players can expect from the game in the months after launch.

The major update will be the addition of Survivor difficulty, a mode that primarily aims to make the gameplay experience more realistic. In this mode, the heads-up display will be minimised through the removal of a mini-map and indicators, alongside increased difficulty and the absence of fast travel and the Survival Vision mechanic.

Meanwhile, the weekly challenges are broken into three categories: Bike, Horde, and Combat. These challenges “take key gameplay features of Days Gone and twists [sic] them in unique ways to earn additional items and rewards.”

Among the rewards for completing this added content will be unique bike skins and trophies.

With the game set to launch this Friday, the media blitz for Days Gone is in full swing. Most recently, a new video emerged showing off the incredible weather effects in the game, while creative director John Garvin also recently opened up about the name.
