Alder's Blood

The “Victorian-Western tactical stealth game” Alder’s Blood is nearing completion, with the team recently reworking the enemy AI.

In a recent post Steam, Shockwork Games explained that it has finished with the “guts” of its new tactical turn-based title. However, due to the possibility of players adopting offensive playstyles rather than stealth-based ones, the developer has overhauled enemy reactions.

The key changes pertain to the monsters’ awareness of and reactions to the player’s presence. In this new build, when a player steps into an enemy’s cone of vision, the characters stops, providing a free action to the enemy. These actions including screams or free first attacks.

The other alteration is to hearing, as monsters will now respond to all sounds, including gunfire, rather than just thrown pebbles as in previous versions

Alder’s Blood is currently scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q1 2020.
