During Epic Games’s keynote at the Game Developers Conference earlier today, Funcom and The Bearded Ladies announced that Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is making its way to the Switch.
The game will release for Switch on June 25, 2019 and will come with an expansion DLC, which will be available to purchase separately on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Check out the announcement trailer below.
The publisher also announced that a physical retail version of the game—dubbed the Deluxe Edition—will release on June 25 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, including the base game and the expansion. The retail edition will be co-published by Maximum Games, with a price point of USD$39.99.
“Ever since we started working on the game, we have always felt it would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch,” said The Bearded Ladies CEO Haraldur Thormundsson. “The game lends itself really well to the Switch controls and the pacing of the tactical turn-based combat is perfect for an on-the-go, handheld console.”
OnlySP’s Amy Davidson reviewed the game for PlayStation 4, awarding it a Distinction (4/5) and stating that “The Bearded Ladies has created a clever, fresh take on the turn-based strategy genre”. Check out the full review here. Ben Newman recently spoke to the game’s composer, Robert Lundgren, about bringing the game’s defining features to life through music, and the full interview can be found here.
