Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat co-creator and veteran fighting game designer Ed Boon has teased a potential new release in the series.

In a response to a comment querying Injustice 2‘s newest DLC on Twitter, Boon stated:

The omission of the “c” for “k” in “kool” is an obvious hint to the series’s history of grammatical fatalities, with the last entry in the series—Mortal Kombat X—releasing in 2015.

Naturally, with E3 peeking over the horizon, fighting game fans are eager to see if Boon’s hint holds any weight. To date, the mainline series has been through various iterations, with the next sequel likely to be Mortal Kombat XI.
