Take this news with a grain of salt, but a reputable Microsoft leaker has implied that the company’s next acquisition will be IO Interactive.

ResetEra user Klobrille, who was dead on with his Obsidian purchase forecast, stated that IO Interactive is “being considered” as a possible purchase for Microsoft. The company has been on a bit of a studio spending spree in recent months in an attempt to mend its biggest fault: a lack of first-party software support.

IO Interactive recently released HITMAN 2 which looks like a critical darling but is unfortunately not selling well. If Microsoft offers a reasonable sum for purchase, then the HITMAN developer joining the company’s ever-growing family seems like a logical decision.
