Phil Spencer has confirmed to IGN this week that Microsoft and 343 Industries currently don’t have any plans to remaster Halo: Reach for the Xbox One. Darn.

Spencer told IGN, “We don’t have a plan right now for a remake of Halo: Reach. I suspect it’ll be a backward-compatibility game before we ever even think about doing a remake.” However, Spencer also noted that just because the game will be backwards compatible, that doesn’t mean that a remastered version of the game can’t happen. Just don’t expect it anytime soon as 343 is deep into development of Halo 5: Guardians.

I’ll certainly be picking up a copy of Halo: Reach again to play on my Xbox One once it’s available as that was my favorite campaign in the franchise. Stay tuned to OnlySP for further updates by following us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks, TGC
