The promising indie adventure Infinitesimals is moving into active production after being confirmed as the recipient of an Epic Games MegaGrant.

Cubit Studios made the announcement via Twitter, also stating that the team now comprises of four people, with the intention to grow further.

The post calls the grant “incredibly generous,” but does not specify the amount awarded.

Epic launched the MegaGrant initiative in March this year, pledging a total of $100 million to projects across video games, digital films, education, and more. Grant amounts range between USD$5,000 and $500,000.

Furthermore, the grant comes with no strings attached. Cubit Studios wrote that it is not obligated to release Infinitesimals on the Epic Games Store and that it is yet to consider those sorts of decisions in any detail. At present, Infinitesimals does have a Steam store page.

The game casts players as a one millimetre tall alien on Earth, with the videos available so far showing off some incredibly detailed environments, impressive action-based gameplay, and an innovative physics-based traversal system.

Last year, the game received a grant from the UK Games Fund.
