4A Games has outlined the two major DLC expansions that Metro Exodus will receive across the coming year.
These packs will follow the same model as the DLC from the previous game, Metro: Last Light, in shifting the focus away from series protagonist Artyom.
The first piece of content, ‘The Two Colonels’ is slated to arrive late this year and will place players in the shoes of Colonel Khlebnikov as he seeks to reunite with his son in Novosibirsk a year before the events of the main game. This chapter will be linear and will introduce the flame thrower as a new weapon.
Meanwhile, the second expansion, ‘Sam’s Story’ will release early next year. This chapter will introduce a new sandbox level based on Vladivostok and will star US Marine Sam as he sets out from the Aurora to seek a way to return home.
These two content drops promise to add hours of fresh content to Metro Exodus, which OnlySP’s Daniel Pereira called “one of the greatest narrative survival horror experiences present within a video game” in his 4/5 review earlier this year.
