If you were hoping to get your hands on the next installment of the Mass Effect series this Winter, you’ll have to wait a little longer.
In EA’s latest investors call, CFO Blake Jorgensen told investors that Mass Effect Andromeda would be released in Q4 of EA’s fiscal year. This ranges from January to March for EA, which pushes the game out of the Holiday 2016 realm and into 2017. The game was initially scheduled to launch this winter according to the official reveal trailer at last year’s E3.
“We have all our sports games, we have Mirror’s Edge, a runner game coming out in the first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter,” Jorgensen said. “So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.”
Mass Effect Andromeda is being built on the latest edition of the Frostbite Engine and will take players on a completely new journey in the Mass Effect universe and star a new lead character. Aside from those basic details, we have yet to hear much about the next entry in the critically acclaimed franchise.
