Playstation Experience is just around the corner, so more and more announcements are dripping through. The latest to arrive is Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, an isometric 2.5D RPG from Witching Hour Studios.

Taking inspiration from the tabletop classic Dungeons and Dragons, Masquerada uses the different arts to create its combat environment including that of dance and song, as well as a focus on sports.

With a desire from Witching Hour Studios on a better story and combat, some staple RPG facets such as a traditional experience system and any kind of inventory have been removed to achieve a more enjoyable experience.

The idea of death is ever-present in the game, as the developers explain,

The team rallied around this core idea and gave it a spine with gameplay inspired by childhood favorites like Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age. Tactical Pause was the first thing we talked about. It gave our combat depth, and also the added bonus of allowing people to pace how they’d like to experience Masquerada.

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is slated for release sometime in 2016 and will be available on Playstation 4.

Playstation Experience is held from December 5th-6th 2015 and any Single Player news coming from the exhibition will be available at OnlySP, along with any other news and features you will need. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter (@Official_OnlySP) to be the first to know.
