Mafia III was officially revealed at Gamescon this year and today, 2K Games have released a lengthy video featuring plenty of gameplay accompanied with developer commentary, following the reveal trailer released in August.
Developed by Hangar 13 for the first time in the series, Mafia III will revolve around new protagonist Lincoln Clay who is trying to make his way in New Orleans after returning from the Vietnam War, attempting to get revenge on the Italian Mob after a failed assassination attempt upon him. He is assisted by Vito Scaletta, who was the protagonist for Mafia II, developed by 2K Czech, among others.
The new video, created by IGN, shows a pre-release alpha version of the game. We follow Clay walking through the streets, using stealth between cover, and engaging in shooting and melee combat. Studio Head and Creative Director of 2K Games Haden Blackman talks us through the video, explaining what changes we will see when the game is released sometime in 2016.
