Loaded with extremely emotional and potentially disturbing elements, The Town of Light is a first-person psychological thriller from Italian-based studio LKA.

We finally have a release date according to the game’s Steam Page and we can get our hands on it on February 26, 2016.

The Town of Light is set inside an old Italian asylum, but uses psychological thrills as opposed to the generic ‘jump-scare’ trope used by many other horror games of the sort. Playing as the ficitional Renee, you are a former patient of the asylum looking to rekindle exactly what happened to you during your stay. Your actions and decisions will impact the story which can conclude with four wildly different outcomes.

Gameplay is similar to that of Gone Home, with actions limited mainly to walking and interacting with objects and even other people, however, The Town of Light deals with a much more serious notion from the offset, as the developers are sighting depression and other mental illnesses as core aspects of Renee’s story – much more akin to the lesser known adventure game The Cat Lady which LKA have suggested as an inspiration.

The game will have Oculus Rift support and will release only on PC. Here is the latest trailer for The Town of Light.
