A recent PSM3 interview with DMC’s lead designer Tameem Antoniades revealed some of developer Ninja Theory’s insight into the series’  evolution. They stated that Capcom was looking to go back to the drawing board after lukewarm response to Devil May Cry 4 and called up Ninja Theory because they wanted reinvent the franchise for a western audience. Aren’t they all these days?

Tameem also responded to fan backlash against the game as well as reassured gamers that the gameplay will remain a hardcore experience. Also, he denies that Dante was modeled after him and expresses confidence that the game will garner new fans for the series.
