Cel-shading, vampires and RPGs are all pretty cool, so assuming you like at least one of those things, there’s good reason to keep an eye on Kalypso Media’s DARK, which just had its latest trailer released. Insert obligatory ‘better than Twilight’ joke here.

Unnecessary use of Wilhelm scream and press quotes aside, the trailer is pretty interesting. We learn about protagonist Eric Bane (no connection to Eric Bana) and get our first glimpse at some gameplay footage. Stealth looks to be a big part of the game, though being an RPG, we imagine you’ll get to customize your playstyle to a fair degree. While the game does use a rather dark color palette, the use of purple jives arguably well with the cel-shaded look. Remind anyone of The Darkness II? View the trailer for yourself and let us know what you think!

DARK is set to release for PC and Xbox 360 in Q2 2013. Stay tuned for more news on this vampiric project.

This game combines pretty much everything I like! Stealth? Awesome. Vampires? Aewesome (with exceptions of course =p) RPGs? Probably the awesomest of the bunch =D

That said, I really hope they don’t pull a colonial marines….

    1. I don’t see the Gearbox or Sega logo in sight, so you should be good. XD

BTW, let’s make this an official term: “Colonial Marinizing (the act of screwing something up).”

  2. hmmm these devs seem pretty low key. I haven’t played, or even heard of anything from them. Apparently they’ve made a couple strategy games before… so what does that tell us? Not much. Not very much at all lol. Well, nothing stopping a guy from hoping this game comes outta nowhere and just blows all competition out of the water =D
