Kingdom Hearts III

Following a lengthy development process, Square Enix has finally announced the release date of the highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III.

The Kingdom Hearts Twitter account revealed that the game will release on 29 January 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Last month, Square Enix reiterated that the game would release in 2018. While this announcement is technically a delay, fans of the series are unlikely to be disappointed, having already waited five years since the game’s announcement in June 2013.

Director Tetsuya Nomura apologised for the delay on Twitter, teasing that new information and trailers for the game are coming at E3—likely during Square Enix’s press conference on Monday.

Like previous entries in the series, Kingdom Hearts III will feature several worlds from Disney properties, such as Toy Story and Monsters, Inc..

Rhain discovered a long time ago that mixing one of his passions (video games) with the other (writing) might be a good idea, and now he’s been stuck in the industry for over six years with no means of escaping. His favourite games are those with deep and captivating narratives: while it would take far too long to list them all, some include L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption (and its sequel), Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted series.
