Edge of Eternity has been updated with a brand new prologue that adds several hours of content to the JRPG.

Developer Midgar Studio has explained that the latest Early Access update will act as an introduction to the main story. ‘Chapter 0: The Seeds of Destruction’ includes a collection of extra cutscenes and music.

Additionally, a new tutorial system has been added to the game alongside fresh difficulty options. Random battle encounters are now also possible for the first time.

According to the developer’s community post, the prologue explores the past lives of characters such as Daryon and Selene. The prologue will also give players more information about the Corrosion and why it poses such a threat to the world.

‘Chapter 0: The Seeds of Destruction’ is not the first story update for Edge of Eternity. The last major expansion came in November 2019. That update brought more than eight hours of story elements with it.

Edge of Eternity launched on Early Access in 2018 after a successful Kickstarter campaign in early 2015. Midgar Studio promises more free updates in the run up to the game’s full release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
