Daedalic Entertainment has unveiled a new, visually stunning teaser trailer for its upcoming turn-based tactical RPG, Iron Danger.
The unique trailer opens with a battle frozen in time whilst a camera pans across a battlefield, showcasing stunning art design and armored foes locked in combat.
At the end of the trailer, the camera focuses on a young elemental warrior, Kipuna, who has defeated a giant mechanical beast.
According to the game’s Steam page, “Iron Danger is a tactical combat game with a unique time-manipulation mechanic. A never-before-seen combination that combines the tactical depth of turn-based games with the exciting action of real-time games.”
Additionally, the game features a unique time-control mechanic that allows players to rewind time for up to five seconds. This key component adds strategic benefits to gameplay and combat scenarios as players can try different combinations of moves.
In 2018, OnlySP spoke to Iron Danger‘s lead programmer Heikki-Pekka Noronen who explained that the “time manipulation was actually the original core idea of the game mechanics,” and it’s something Action Squad Studios has spent a lot of development time on.
Furthermore, Daedalic Entertainment announced the game is set for release in early 2020.
