Daedalic Entertainment has revealed a new feature trailer for its upcoming tactical RPG, Iron Danger.
The new trailer shows off Iron Danger‘s main mechanic: time manipulation. The player can rewind time for up to five seconds at anytime, combining the strategy of turn-based with the action of real-time games.
The trailer also took the time to flesh out the world. Iron Danger is a strong combination of steampunk, fantasy, and Finnish folklore. The narrative takes place during a war between the humans of Kalevala and Lowhee, a witch queen from the frozen north. The protagonist, Kipuna, is pushed into the middle of this war when she gains power over time and death. She must master her new power to protect her people, and stop it from getting into the wrong hands.
Iron Danger is set to release for PC on March 25, 2020.
In 2018, OnlySP spoke to Iron Danger‘s lead programmer Heikki-Pekka Noronen who explained that the “time manipulation was actually the original core idea of the game mechanics,” and it is something that Action Squad Studios has spent a lot of development time on.
