With the release of Spider-Man imminent, Insomniac Games has talked down the likelihood of a return to the Resistance franchise.

James Stevenson, Community Director at Insomniac Games, stated in an interview that possibility of a sequel would be “a longshot:”

“It feels like it’s a longshot to me. But I have learned over the years to never say never. I think there are a lot of people out there that have fond memories of a Resistance game from the PS3 era, but yeah, never say never, it’s just that we have no plans to make another Resistance game in the future.”

Originally released in 2006, the Resistance series was a PlayStation-exclusive first-person shooter. The titles improved as time went on, with outlets praising the series’s hard-as-nails gameplay and nihilistic world building.

OnlySP is a long time fan of the series, with former owner Nick Calandra penning an impassioned support of the series in 2015.
