imperator rome

Imperator: Rome is set for a dynamic new dual rulership feature, adding a co-consul to rule alongside the existing consul.

Today, Paradox Interactive shared details on all of the new features expected from Imperator: Rome‘s ‘1.1 Pompey’ patch update.

Perhaps the most eye-catching new addition is the new dynamics for dual rulers, including the introduction of co-consuls. Furthermore, players can monitor to corruption level between both consuls, depending on the corruption score players can expect to deal with the effects.

The game’s content designer, Peter Nicholson, warned that co-consuls should be chosen with caution: “A weak co-consul is not without dangers, however, as ruler, popularity is averaged between your consuls.”

Other major changes includes updates to naval warfare and pirates, national heritages, a total rework of stability, and the addition of weather and volcanoes.

Paradox Interactive announced via Twitter that the “1.1 Pompey’ update will not work with older save games, so there is a 1.0.3 – Old Version rollback branch on Steam and GOG for players who wish to continue their current games.”

This update is free for everyone who owns Imperator: Rome.

Microsoft has also recently announced that the title will be added to Game Pass on PC.
