Hob is a suspenseful sci-fi action-adventure game presented without text or dialogue. Using wordless narrative, Hob’s story is revealed as users move through the game solving puzzles, exploring, and transforming the world around them. Befriending the sprites who call the game world home, the player must battle the vicious creatures who threaten them, while at the same time restoring and reinvigorating a planet in peril.

Seattle-based Runic Games is best known for the single-player action role-playing game Torchlight and its sequel, Torchlight II. Founded in 2008 by Travis Baldree, Max Schaefer, Erich Schaefer and Peter Hu, the company created Torchlight in a mere eleven months, and has received praise for its responsiveness to the player community. In 2010, Perfect World Entertainment bought a majority stake in Runic Games, making the studio one of its subsidiaries.

In the works since 2012, Hob was first announced to the gaming public at PAX Prime on August 17, 2015.
