It’s recently been announced that anyone who pre-orders Hitman: Absolution from Gamestop will receive a little extra something to hold them over until the full game comes out.

It’s called Hitman: Sniper Challenge, a stand-alone game that can be played immediately once you pre-order. In it, you play as Agent 47 himself and are tasked with using a sniper rifle to eliminate corrupt CEO Richard Strong as well his bodygaurds; creatively, of course. The game is built from none other than the Glacier 2.0 engine, which is being used to power Absolution. A description for the pre-order game is below:

From a balcony overlooking a roof-top party, you are tasked with taking out Richard Strong, Jr., CEO of Stallion Armaments, along with his entire staff of bodyguards. Skilled players will capitalize on score multipliers, discover secret extras, unlock equipment upgrades, and marvel at the many creative ways one can discretely dispose of a body while they work to fulfil their contract in the most efficient way possible.

The high-powered Kazo TRG sniper rifle and a host of other upgrades can be unlocked and carried over into HITMAN: ABSOLUTION. Also an online leader board will allow players to compare their sniping abilities with players around the world, supported by various challenges to determine who has the best sniping skills. Keep an eye on for more details.

Sounds like it’s worth trying out. You can see the trailer below. Make sure to keep your scope on Hitman: Absolution when it releases this November for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
